Botswana

Hi Guys,

Currently sat in what can be loosely described as an internet cafe - a room with some computers in. We're in the city(maybe town) of Maun, Botswana.

When we arrived we went to Chobe National Park and spent a night under the stars after an amazing game drive where we came within a metre or so of a herd of about 20 elephants (at least). We've also seen, hippos, crocs, buffalo, puku, kudu etc. No big cats yet though!

We've just got back from the Okavango Delta where we spent two nights, went on a game walk and saw zebra, wildebeest and giraffes up close and a snake which, if we would've been bitten by would have killed us within the hour.

All going great.

Google the Okavango.

Doots says hi!

Love to all xx

Vic Falls

Just a quick post!

Vic Falls was amazing, impossible to describe mainly because there's nothing like it i've ever seen. We got soaked from the spray (apparently good luck) and I was scared to death by a monkey jumping out at me.

Went to a bome meal last night and tried crocodile, ostrich, buffalo, and Warthog ( for all you lion king fans look away now) Pumba ROCKS! Awesome meat, I had a Pumba burger for lunch!

It's not going to great on the losing weight front and the chef on out camping trip is apparently amazing. That's all for now!

Oh and Ali says hi, he's watching the football in the bar...

Shoestrings

We've arrived, seen way too many bugs already and the sun is about to go down. Hostel we're staying in is actually pretty nice, wouldn't expect anything more from a hotel here.

As i'm typing a cheeky lizard is wandering past me on the wall, I think i'll name him Sid. There's also a pig here, not sure if he's a pet or dinner. There are two big guard dogs here, great danes I think. We've decided that they have them here to get you used to the elephants that you will see when wandering around the streets at night - yes we're in the middle of a national park where they just wander around. Apparently it's not the elephants you have to worry about, it's the lions - comforting...

Flights were fine, got champers on the way out on account of me being a total 'tard and not liking the flying.

Will update when we next have something interesting to say!

We're in frickin' Africa baby!!

Dude, we're in Africa!

I'm sat in the BA exec lounge at OR Tambo airport, Johannesburg - we're waiting for our connection to Victoria Falls a little later on...

All was good with our flight, the plane was pretty empty so we were able to spread out and catch a bit of sleep. The Virgin cabin crew were excellent, very friendly and helpful to the scaredy cat flyers amongst us..

So, onward with the travels... Next stop, Zimbabwe!
